Empire Package Sizzle
When tasked with producing a on-air package for an upcoming hip-hop drama that we had very little information about it quickly became clear that it was time to blow shit up.
The first thought that came to my head was what if we literally blew up musical elements for the package.
The explosions captured at high speed could represent the volatile world of the characters and provide not only visual drama but give us something to hold footage.
Everything came together to build a package that would go on to promote one of the highest rated television shows in years.

TCA Sizzle

Behind the Scenes
This storyboard was quickly put together after the shoot to help further sell the idea. We were asked to see if using the talent on the backplate would work.
It quickly became clear that adding the talent made the show look a bit like a cable show. In the end we opted to keep talent off the backplate.

Behind the Scenes
On a very low budget and a few favors we were able to pull together a great group of people to make this idea a reality.
We blasted many types of materials and found that glass record gave the best results.
